Why Smart Creators Are Obsessed With "Children's LEGO"

Hey Beyonder!

Last week, we talked about Monroe's Motivated Sequence, the persuasion framework that makes people act.

But here's the follow-up question I got in my reply mail :

"This is great, but I'm still struggling with coming up with enough content ideas. How do I create consistently without burning out?"

Sound familiar?

Here's the thing: You don't need more ideas. You need better systems.

Today, I'm sharing the "Lego Principle" the content multiplication method that turns one story into 15+ pieces of content.

Quick note: If you want this week's Lego Content Planner Notion template (including the weekly workflow ), just reply "LEGO" after reading.

The Problem Most Creators Face

You probably think you need:

  • A new story every day

  • Fresh angles constantly

  • Endless inspiration

Wrong.

The creators who post consistently (without losing their minds) don't have more ideas, they have better building blocks.

What is The Lego Principle?

Think about Lego bricks.

With just a few basic pieces, kids can build castles, cars, spaceships, and entire cities. Same blocks, infinite possibilities.

Content works the same way.

One core story becomes your "master brick." Then you:

  • Reshape it for different platforms

  • Extract micro-lessons

  • Flip perspectives

  • Add new contexts

  • Create series from subsections

The 4-Step Lego System

Step 1: Build Your Master Brick

Start with one substantial story or experience. Could be:

  • A business mistake you made

  • A mindset shift that changed everything

  • A process you developed

  • A conversation that taught you something

Example: "How I went from 100 to 10K followers in 6 months"

Step 2: Extract the Building Blocks

Break your master story into smaller components:

  • The mindset shifts

  • The tactical steps

  • The mistakes made

  • The tools used

  • The emotional journey

  • The lessons learned

From our example:

  • Block 1: "Why I stopped caring about vanity metrics"

  • Block 2: "The content audit that changed everything"

  • Block 3: "My 3-step engagement strategy"

  • Block 4: "The biggest mistake that almost killed my growth"

Step 3: Reshape for Different Platforms

Take each block and adapt it:

  • LinkedIn Post: Professional lessons + data

  • Instagram Reel: Visual storytelling + quick tips

  • Twitter Thread: Step-by-step breakdown

  • Newsletter: Deep dive with examples

  • YouTube Short: Behind-the-scenes story

  • Carousel: Educational infographic

Step 4: Create Connections

Link your blocks together:

  • Reference previous posts

  • Tease upcoming content

  • Build anticipation for the next piece

Real Creator Example: How James Clear Does This

James Clear's book "Atomic Habits" is his Master Brick.

From this one concept, he's created:

Each piece feels fresh because he:

  • Changes the angle ("Why habits fail" vs "How to build habits")

  • Uses different examples (athletes vs entrepreneurs)

  • Focuses on different outcomes (productivity vs health)

🎯 This Week's Challenge

  1. Write out your Master Brick story (save this as your content bank)

  2. Extract 5 building blocks from it

  3. Create 3 different pieces of content this week using those blocks

  4. Reply with your Master Brick topic - I read every response and will share the best ones next week!

Remember: The goal isn't to repeat yourself. It's to explore every angle of wisdom from your experiences.

Keep telling stories,
Epaphra

P.S. Stop searching for new stories. Start mining the gold in the ones you already have. The best creators don't find more content, they find more ways to share their truth.
