They Made Memes Out of My Video

In partnership with

Hey Beyonder!

Something strange happens when your work finally lands.

You spend months building something. You put everything into it. And then one day, people don't just watch it. They start making memes out of it.

That happened last week. And I still don't know what to do with that feeling.

When People Take Your Work and Run With It

The response to "Why Men Rape" has been overwhelming. I'm still not recovered from it. Then came the next podcast. People started making memes out of it. I'm really glad people are able to resonate with it.

Why This Moment Feels Big

If you've been reading this for the last few weeks, you know how much I've been talking about making long-form YouTube videos. I kept saying it was coming. I kept building toward it.

Now it's here. People are watching it, sharing it and talking about it.

There's something about seeing the thing you imagined in your head exist in the real world. Having other people connect with it. It doesn't get old.

I'm excited for what's coming next. We have videos in the pipeline that I'm nervous to release. Because I can't wait to see what you think.

This Friday: Chess and South India

We're launching a video this Friday.

It's about chess in South India. Specifically, why are we so good at it?

And my conversation with Gukesh is part of it.

If you follow chess even a little, you know what Gukesh represents right now. Getting to sit down and actually talk to him was something else. I'm still processing it.

Four Months. One Tool. Going Live.

My team has been quietly building something since the start of this year.

It's called 'Okay Write'.

We built it for ourselves first. Then we started using it for our agency clients. And it became one of those things where you wonder how you worked without it before.

Now we're opening it up.

I'm not going to overhype it. What I'll say is this. If you're in content or running a small business, there's a good chance this makes your week easier.

A Movie, Old Friends, and One Big Idea

I haven't watched a movie in a really long time.

This week, I went with my school friends to watch "Hail Mary." I'm glad I did. For the film and for the people I watched it with.

We sat there, the same group from years ago. We have different lives now. But for two hours, none of that mattered. It just felt easy.

The movie is deep. I won't spoil it. But there's one idea at its core that I kept thinking about afterward.

Being alive means having emotions. And having emotions is what gives you a reason to keep going.

It reminded me of a recent podcast conversation we had about how humans carry emotions and what that does to us.

What does it actually mean to be alive?

I don't have a clean answer. But I think sitting with the question is worth something.

An Honest Update

I picked up a book on evolution a few weeks ago. Looked interesting. Then work got hectic and I put it down.

I'll get back to it when things settle.

Over to You

The movie had me thinking about emotions. How we carry them. How they show up when we're not expecting them.

Here’s my question for you:

Hit reply. I read everything.

See you next week.

Cheers,
