She Showed Up Sick... Just to Stay Consistent

Hey Beyonder!

Hope you're doing well. It's been quite a week for me, and I wanted to share some moments that really got me thinking.

Moving Out: When Parents Leave and Reality Hits

So I finally settled down in my new place! It's a nice 2BHK, and for the first few days it felt like a party. My parents were here, my friends’ parents came over too. We did the whole thing - they invited us for lunch, we invited them for dinner. Good food, good laughs, everyone happy.

Then they left. And suddenly I'm sitting in this apartment that feels way too big and way too quiet. But hey, life goes on, right?

I've set up one room just for work and recording videos. Right now it's pretty basic, but I'm planning to turn it into a proper YouTube studio. I'm actually excited about this upgrade. I'll show you the progress next week.

The Basic Setup, So Far

A Commute That Brought Back Memories

Last week I had to shoot a podcast. The guest was amazing, but here's the thing - since I moved to the outskirts of Chennai, the studio is now more than an hour away. Long ride with lots of time to think.

On my way there, I passed my old office - Zoho. Man, that brought back memories. I made a mental note to visit on my way back.

The podcast went really well. On the way back, I drove straight to Zoho. I called a few friends — some were busy, but a couple showed up. I even called my old manager.

Met old friends from Zoho

You know what? Everyone was genuinely happy to see me. We went for lunch together. My manager wouldn't let me pay. We talked, laughed, caught up on everything. It's only been two years since I left, but it felt like going back home.

When Your Client Inspires You More Than You Inspire Them

Here's what really hit me this week. One of my teammates couldn't make it to a client shoot, so I had to go myself. Our client, Reshmy, showed up despite being really sick that day.

When I asked her why she didn't reschedule, she said, "I don't want to lose consistency." This woman is my mother's age. She has all the money she needs. She helps students study abroad. But she still showed up, feeling unwell, just to stay consistent.

Sick but showed up, just to stay consistent. Respect.

I asked her what keeps her so driven. Her answer floored me: "I like to see the change I can make in students' lives."

A quick shoutout to this powerful women, If you're planning to study abroad, check out her page : https://www.instagram.com/reshmy.vijay?igsh=eWxydWM0aGZ0aHBr

That conversation stuck with me. Here's someone who could easily retire and relax, but she's driven by something bigger than money or comfort. She's driven by purpose.

Over to You

Hit reply and tell me about it. I read every email, and honestly, your stories often inspire my content more than anything else.

Also, what do you want to hear about next week? The studio setup? More behind-the-scenes stories? Let me know!

Cheers,
